Springbank: The flagship is simply called Springbank - and is fondly referred to as "the Maritime" because of its legendary salty note. Lightly peated and distilled 2.5 times, this single malt was first bottled in 1828 and is now available in ages 10, 12, 15, 18, and 21 years. Each individual bottling is a unique taste experience: in the 10-year-matured edition, for example, the aroma plays with the flavors of sweet fruit and honey and varies them in an inimitable way with a delicate peaty note. Perfectly balanced in flavor, with a deep yet unobtrusive malt nuance and an ever-present smoky note, this whisky has a long and elegant finish. Available at 46 % Vol. and Cask Strength. wab

Whisky has been distilled in Campbeltown, in the southern part of the Kintyre peninsula, for many centuries. The oldest evidence dates back to 1591. The Springbank distillery is also located in what was once the whisky capital of the world and has been producing whisky of the highest quality here since 1828. The independent Springbank distillery is one of the few distilleries in Scotland still run by members of the original family - the Mitchells. The current owner, Hedley G. Wright, is their direct descendant. This distillery is tradition brought to life: the premises consist not only of the original headquarters from 1828, but also of parts of the former Longrow, Rieclachan, Union, Springside, and Argyll distilleries.
