3 years and 10 months in American oak and then 8 months in a 225-litre port cask. Complex, multi-layered, at a fair price.
Overall, the rum matured in cask for four and a half years, so not much older than a VSOP.
Nose: very fruity with notes of fresh sugar cane, dried fruit and a hint of jam.
Palate: at first, the typical dryness of the VSOP stands out, but over time it gives way to sweet fruitiness.
Finish: impresses with a colourful basket of fruit and lingers for several minutes. The alcohol is integrated remarkably well. A very successful bottling!
