Benromach Contrasts Cara Gold Malt 0.7l 46% vol. Whisky bourbon cask matured 2010 2022  Smoke: 12ppm

limited release for Germany 1200 out of a total of 6000 bottles

Color: Light gold

Taste: a hint of malt biscuit , gentle and sweet aromas of pineapple, apricot, and subtle pepper, complemented by roasted malt and a hint of butter toffee.

Finish: Lively and fruity with sweet smoke. Smoke content: 12 PPM. It was bottled at a full-bodied 46.0% vol. and is naturally non-chill filtered and contains no added coloring.

A limited release made from a special malt base. In 2010, Cara Gold malt* was used for the production of one batch of whisky in combination with the distillery's usual lightly peated malt. The finished distillate was stored in first-fill bourbon casks, where the whisky was allowed to mature for 11 years. Like all Benromach products, it is non-chill filtered and natural in color - bottled at an aromatic 46% vol. Only 6,000 bottles are available worldwide, 1,500 of them remaining in the United Kingdom, and as many as 1,200 are intended for the German market.

* Cara Gold is a type of malt primarily used in beer production. It gives a strong, sweet caramel aroma and a unique flavor of toffee and brown sugar.

The Benromach distillery, originally built in 1898, was brought back to life when the Urquhart family (owners of Gordon & McPhail) fulfilled a lifelong dream by purchasing their own distillery in 1993. The distillery was extensively renovated over a period of five years before being officially opened in 1998 by HRH The Duke of Rothesay.

The vision: to create a handcrafted single malt whisky with classic Speyside character - beautifully balanced with a light hint of peat, as it was before the 1960s.

The Benromach distillery is located on the edge of the old market town of Forres in the heart of the Speyside region, not far from the coast. Its distinctive red chimney can be seen from afar and is one of the distillery's landmarks.

The golden single malts fulfill Benromach's quality promise: the use of only four ingredients:
Finest Scottish barley, pure spring water from the Romach Hills, yeast, and the expertise of the master distillers. Benromach uses only first-fill casks. Each cask is filled, weighed, and labeled by hand before its contents are left to reach optimum maturity over many years in the traditional dunnage warehouse . The small team of distillers relies entirely on their expertise and senses. Only when the whisky meets the high quality standards of the family-run Benromach distillery is it bottled. Benromach also describes this high level of craftsmanship with its slogan: Made by hand for genuine character. Numerous international awards confirm the excellent quality of these unique single malt Scotch whiskies.
In 2018, Benromach also launched Red Door Highland Gin. Handcrafted in the copper still Peggy, hidden behind a red door and produced in small batches, this characterful gin made from fine grain distillate has a heart of the finest juniper. Enriched with local botanicals typical of Scotland, it reveals characteristic citrus notes of bitter orange, aromatic sea buckthorn, heather, and rowan berry.

Schönes Teil

"Caragold" der Name ist Programm. Flüssiges Salzkaramel im Glas. Lange auf der Zunge. Immer wieder gerne im Glas.
