Nose: Sweet and delicate on the nose, with notes of raspberry coulis. A mustiness develops reminiscent of dunnage and bung cloth.

Palate: Initially smooth and syrupy on the palate, opening up to notes of sultanas, bananas and demerara sugar crystals.

Finish: The coastal inuence presents itself in a saltiness in the nish, along with hints of barley water and grassy notes.

Springbank: The flagship is simply called Springbank - and because of its legendary salty note, it is fondly referred to as "the Maritime." Lightly peated and distilled 2.5 times, this single malt was first bottled in 1828 and is now available in age statements of 10, 12, 15, 18, and 21 years. Each individual bottling offers a distinctive tasting experience: in the 10-year-old edition, for example, the aroma plays with the flavor of sweet fruit and honey, varying it in an inimitable way with a fine peaty note. Perfectly balanced on the palate, with a deep yet subtle malt nuance and an ever-present smoky note, this whisky has a long and elegant finish. Available at 46% vol. and cask strength.

In Campbeltown, in the southern part of the Kintyre peninsula, whisky has been distilled for many centuries. The oldest evidence dates back to 1591. The Springbank distillery is also located in what was once the whisky capital of the world and has been producing whisky of the highest quality here since 1828. The independent Springbank distillery is one of the few distilleries in Scotland still run by members of the original family - the Mitchells. The current owner, Hedley G. Wright, is their direct descendant. This distillery is tradition in practice: the premises consist not only of the original headquarters from 1828, but also parts of the former Longrow, Rieclachan, Union, Springside, and Argyll distilleries.
