A single cask from a little-known distillery in the Galápagos Islands.

This extremely rare cask comes from a small, virtually secret distillery in the Galápagos Islands (Ecuador), where sugar cane has been cultivated for some years and rum produced in small batches. Only a few people worldwide have ever had access to such casks – and we are among those few lucky ones. The rum was made in 2015 from freshly pressed sugar cane juice and distilled in a small pot still. This is why it entered cask maturation at around 52–55 % vol. After ten years of tropical ageing directly on the equator and intensely interacting with the wood, it has now been bottled at 49,6 % vol. at full cask strength.
