Nose: delicate fruit aromas, overripe bananas, oranges, cooked pears.  Coconut oil, pudding, beeswax.

The Plantation Rum Jamaica 13 Years 2009/2022 Spanish Orange Wine Single Cask Finish belongs to the annually released Single Cask series of Plantation Rum bottlings from Ferrand. Ferrand has made a name for itself in the rum segment with its double-aging process, as this method gives the rum enormous complexity and intensity. The Plantation Rum Jamaica 13 Years 2009/2022 Spanish Orange Wine Single Cask Finish is first matured for 8 years in ex-bourbon casks and then shipped to France. There, the rum is refined for a further 4 years in former Ferrand casks. Afterwards, the Plantation Rum Jamaica 13 Years 2009/2022 received a third maturation for 7 months in Spanish orange wine casks. Nose : Intense, very fruity with orange, overripe banana, cooked pear, berries, custard, beeswax and coconut oil with hints of musk, also floral and herbal funk.

Palate : Dry and quite funky with varnish, tropical fruits, green apple, grape, with spicy notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and tonka bean, also brioche and chocolate.

The Plantation Single Cask Rums are limited editions of double-aged Haute Couture Rums. These fine spirits are first matured in former bourbon casks in a tropical climate before receiving their finish in ex-Ferrand casks made of French oak. This takes place in southwestern France. Alexandre Gabriel, awarded the world's best Master Blender in 2012, always carefully selects the casks for the secondary maturation. Most of them previously held wine, another type of spirit, or even beer. The type of cask used is individually chosen for each rum to highlight its unique character. Only a few versions of Plantation rums are produced each year, making them true collector's items.
