The KAVALAN distillery is part of the Taiwanese family-owned King Car Group, which employs just under 2,500 people and was founded in 1956 by Tian-Tsai Lee. The King Car Group is a family-run company whose president to this day is the founder himself. The General Manager is his eldest son, Yu-Ting Lee, who runs the company in the spirit of his father. For several years now, King Car has earned a significant reputation in the international whisky world. Opened in 2005, the KAVALAN distillery in the Yilan region, the first privately run independent distillery, produces high-quality single malts that delight connoisseurs around the world.
Description Pedro Ximenez is one of the few sherries made from just one grape variety, namely Pedro Ximenez (PX). It is a classic dessert wine, very dark with aromas of caramel, dried fruit, chocolate, and nuts. Through maturation in PX casks, the Solist Pedro Ximenez acquires its sweet character.

The Kavalan Distillery in Taiwan was founded in 2005 by T.T. Lee, president of the Taiwanese food conglomerate King Car Group. His greatest wish was to open his own whisky distillery in Taiwan.
Kavalan is the name of the Yilan region, which lies southeast of the capital Taipei. An important reason for choosing this location is the excellent water quality. In Yilan there is enough cold spring water flowing through Snow Mountain.

The Solist range from Kavalan Distillery includes specially selected casks chosen by the master blenders. These casks are known for their individual character and fine quality.
This whisky is matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
