The 12-year-old Campbeltown Malt was first matured in first-fill bourbon casks, before being finished for 9 months in 1st Fill Tawny Port casks. Release No. 3 reveals dark fruits, rich sweetness, and chocolate notes - paired with the unmistakable maritime saltiness. The single malt was bottled at cask strength [51,7 %], non-chill filtered, and in natural color. About Tawny Port: Tawny Port wine is characterized by its long aging in wooden casks and the resulting "tan" or "mahogany" color. Unlike other Port wines, a Tawny matures exclusively in wooden casks for a longer period, developing powerful wood aroma complexes complemented by intense fruit aromas, followed by nut & chocolate, through to tobacco aromas.

Glen Scotia Distillery embodies the unmistakable spirit of the Victorian whisky capital of Campbeltown. This 12-year-old single malt, finished in Palo Cortado sherry casks, tells a story of mermaid sightings along the coast of Kintyre, especially during the whisky boom of the 1800s. A floral and delicate pleasure, as extraordinary as the legends that shape the region.   Glen Scotia distillery is located on the Kintyre peninsula, more precisely in Campbeltown. The distillery was founded in 1832 by Steward, Galbraith & Co. under the name Scotia Distillery and has had an eventful history ever since. 
With its vibrant setting and rugged Atlantic breeze, this coastal town has something magical about it. "Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, my desire is always to be here ..." Paul McCartney sings of the desire to always remain on this peninsula. Presumably, it's not only the mystical allure of the landscape that's a good reason for that - but also the unique single malt produced here.
