Glen Scotia is known for its complex and layered aromas. This bottling from the First Fill Bordeaux Red Wine Hogshead with cask number 21/756-9, matured for five years, is a special treat.
The Glen Scotia distillery is located on the Kintyre Peninsula, more precisely in Campbeltown. Founded in 1832 by Steward, Galbraith & Co. under the name Scotia Distillery, it has since had a history full of events.
With its vibrant setting and the rough Atlantic breeze, this coastal town has something magical about it. “Mull of Kintyre, oh mist rolling in from the sea, my desire is always to be here …” Paul McCartney sings of the wish to always stay on this peninsula. Presumably, not only the mystical appeal of the landscape is a good reason for this – but also the unique single malt produced here.
