Nose: typical of Trinidad Distillers Limited rum, with notes of camphor, menthol and eucalyptus
Taste: aromas of stone fruit, such as mirabelle and vine peach
Finish: spicy and peppery. A fantastically balanced blend of fruit and spices
Trinidad rum is generally considered rather edgy and often scores with slightly smoky notes. Even if these characteristics are more often attributed to the Caroni distillery, which has been closed for many years, Trinidad Distillers Limited also masters this style. Here in this country, it is best known for the Angostura brand, but the independent bottlings of its rums are also steadily becoming more popular.
