A sweet side of Arran Whisky. After a maturation period of eight years in American oak casks, carefully selected Sauternes casks from Bordeaux were chosen to give the whisky a finish. Sauternes is a sweet dessert wine with a rich and lively character that gives the house style of Arran Whisky a flavorful twist.

The maturation process used ensures that this whisky has a deep and balanced character with layers of honey on the nose, united with Arran’s trademark: citrus influences.


The island of Arran is both breathtakingly beautiful and unique. With its mountains, lowlands, glens, lochs, and royal castles, it embodies the entire landscape of Scotland and is affectionately  called “Scotland in miniature” .

The Isle of Arran distillery was built in 1 994 at the foot of the village of Lochranza. On June 29, 1995, the first spirit flowed from the stills, bringing legal distilling back to Arran after more than 150 years. This distillery was the first in a new generation of distilleries in the 90s. Since that day in June 1995, when the first cask was filled, Arran has been producing first-class unpeated single malt whisky, which has gained international recognition through numerous gold medals.

The latest chapter in their whisky history on the island began in June 2019, when their second distillery in Lagg in the south of Arran opened its doors to the public and began producing heavily peated whisky in Arran’s signature style. Almost 25 years after whisky distilling started in Lochranza, Isle of Arran Distillers are now the proud owners and operators of two very different and unique distilleries on the island of Arran.
