Palate: Cranberry, honey, dark chocolate, cherry, fruit compote, toffee, dark plums. Bittersweet apricot, cinnamon. 

Finish: Harmonious, elegant, fruity Amarone wine, complex.

After maturing for eight years in American oak casks, it is finished for some time in casks that previously held Amarone wine. These used wine casks come from Veneto, a region known for producing excellent wines. These carefully selected casks give the Arran Amarone Cask Finish a flavorful and vibrant character, allowing you to discover another side of the brand. The best of a luxurious wine variety from Italy is united with the best of a vibrant Scottish single malt whisky: Arran Amarone Cask lets these cultures merge together.  The island of Arran is both breathtakingly beautiful and unique. With its mountains, lowlands, glens, lochs, and royal castles, it embodies the full landscape of Scotland and is affectionately  called "Scotland in miniature" . The Isle of Arran distillery was built in 1994 at the foot of the village of Lochranza. On 29 June 1995, the first spirit flowed from the stills, bringing legal distillation back to Arran after more than 150 years. This distillery was the first in a generation of distilleries in the 1990s. Since that day in June 1995, when the first cask was filled, Arran has been producing first-class unpeated single malt whisky that has gained international recognition through numerous gold medals. The latest chapter in their whisky story on the island began in June 2019, when their second distillery in Lagg, in the south of Arran, opened its doors to the public and began producing heavily peated whisky in the characteristic Arran style. Almost 25 years after the whisky distillery in Lochranza began operating, the Isle of Arran Distillers are today the proud owners and operators of two very different and unique distilleries on the island of Arran.
