It was opened in 1995 and is the only distillery on the island. It specializes in single-cask bottlings in special casks, e.g. Calvados, Champagne. 

The Plantation Single Cask Rums are limited editions of double-aged Haute Couture Rums. These fine spirits first mature in former bourbon barrels in a tropical climate before receiving their finish in ex-Ferrand barrels made of French oak. This takes place in the southwest of France. Alexandre Gabriel, who was named the world's best Master Blender in 2012, always carefully selects the barrels for the second maturation. Most often, they previously contained wine, another type of spirit, or even beer. The type of cask used is selected individually for each rum to highlight its unique character. Only a few versions of Plantation rums are produced each year, making them true collector's items.
