Nose: fine notes of a little citrus, ripe peach, apricot, leather, and tobacco. After some time in the glass, notes of vanilla and oak are added. The presence on the nose is breathtaking, 

Palate: with the same notes as the nose 

Finish: very long-lasting with a fine sweetness, wood, leather, and lots of herbs. Down Under – we love you!

Until a few years ago, Australia was a blank spot on the rum map, yet around 1800 rum was the second currency because there were not enough coins. However, the rum was imported, as the first sugarcane fields were not planted until more than half a century later, around 1860, and the first rum distillery (Beenleigh) was founded in 1884. In recent years, however, a few good bottlings from Down Under have turned up from independent bottlers. This molasses rum from a closely guarded distillery was distilled in a pot still in 2007, initially matured for 10 years in Australia, and then came to Europe from the end of 2017.
