Glenallachie Brand Scotch Whisky

The trio at the helm of The GlenAllachie collectively brings nearly 100 years of experience in the whisky business: the central figure is Billy Walker, former owner of BenRiach, Glendronach, and Glenglassaugh. Together with his team partners, he decided to leave behind large corporations and bureaucracy, tight budget constraints, and high financial pressure. The distillers' goal: to make outstanding Single Malt Scotch Whisky – completely free and independent in their decisions, crafted in Scotland, and with lots of fun and passion.

Founded in 1967, The GlenAllachie Distillery was long owned by a foreign corporation. In 2017, The GlenAllachie Distillers Company purchased the distillery in Speyside – along with the filled casks in the warehouse. Its new owners: the long-time Scottish whisky expert Billy Walker and his partners Trisha Savage and Graham Stevenson. The new team was introduced to the distillery’s unique features by long-standing employees. Among them: the distillery has four stills and two separate spirit safes – allowing it to produce two different distillates in parallel, for example smoky and non-smoky new make.

Until now, The GlenAllachie Distillery produced almost exclusively for blended whiskies. Single Malt, on the other hand, was very rarely available, for example through independent bottlers. This changed in 2017 with the takeover by the team around Billy Walker. Age statements are important for The GlenAllachie’s Single Malts: the core range consists of 10, 12, 18, and 25-year-old whiskies. In addition, regular single cask and special releases are planned – and from 2018 even a smoky whisky.
