Intense, lasting, exotic: Distilled with hand-selected, hard-to-reach botanicals from the Amazon, CANAÏMA offers an aromatic glimpse into the breathtaking nature of Venezuela. The plants and herbs, which may seem rather unusual for gin distillation, open up a previously unknown dimension of flavour - perfectly suited to tropical high-summer temperatures. Born in the Amazon...  Unique light conditions and a very special climate nurture a variety of unexplored ingredients and plants beneath the dense rainforest canopy. It is no coincidence that the local Pemón Indians refer to their region as a "mystical land", whose botanical heritage they carefully pass down from generation to generation. With the help of their exceptional knowledge, the hard-to-reach raw materials are hand-picked from the depths of the Amazon.

Tradition meets innovation .. Eight traditional gin botanicals are combined by the master distiller with ten hand-selected Amazon botanicals. Alongside the nutritious and intensely violet acai berry, the seje palm fruit, or merey, a resin from the branches and leaves of the cashew tree, rare rainforest treasures also include the tupiro fruit, valued by locals, copoazú, used in jam and chocolate production, and the fruit of the moriche palm, also known as the "love fruit" because of its high content of female hormones - all of which give CANAÏMA its unconventional flavour. Conventional ingredients such as juniper, lemon and orange peel, angelica root, and coriander provide the typical gin nuances. Each botanical is macerated individually and distilled separately in a traditional copper pot still with a capacity of 500ltr. into a unique blend. 

Nature as the highest good..   To preserve the landscape that has remained untouched for centuries, CANAÏMA is voluntarily committed to reforestation and to supporting the local indigenous communities - 10% of the profits go to the respective associations and interest groups. Careful treatment of nature is not only CANAÏMA's highest priority during the botanical harvest. All items used for brand promotion are produced with the foundation Tierra Viva, which promotes the creation of sustainable jobs for the tribal communities of the region. Together with Saving the Amazon, CANAÏMA supports the reforestation of the Amazon rainforest. As part of the Business Forest Programs, trees are planted by cooperating indigenous tribes and cared for for 36 months. Every tree planted helps 217 communities and 29,860 indigenous people, creates work for 7,460 women, and enables many children to attend school.

Tart notes of orange and grapefruit meet bittersweet aromas of acerola cherry, acai, and passion fruit, along with aromatic nuances of uva di palma and pansigué. A complex taste on the palate, dominated by herbal, citrus, and tropical-sweet notes. On the nose, intensely fruity, floral aromas that recall the lush, humid greenery of the Amazon rainforest. Its elevated alcohol content of 47% vol. gives CANAÏMA its unique harmony of perfectly balanced flavours and aromas.
