Filey Bay Whisky is produced by the Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery and is the first single malt whisky to be made in Yorkshire, England. The distillery began production in May 2016 and has since built a strong connection to its hometown of Hunmanby on the Yorkshire coast. The barley used for the whisky is grown on the family’s own farm, enabling a true "field to bottle" operation. Filey Bay Whisky is characterized by a light, fruity, and creamy character. It is made exclusively from barley grown on the home farm and matures in ex-bourbon casks. After six preliminary releases of "Maturing Malt," the spirit reached the three-year mark and was officially classified as whisky, with the first batch released in October. This precise craftsmanship and close connection to the local environment are reflected in the quality and unique flavor profile of Filey Bay Whisky.
