With Blanton’s Gold Edition at 51,5% alcohol, a small splash of water opens up the subtle flavor aromas. As a digestif, it is a true fireworks display of flavor: notes of vanilla, chocolate, nuts, raisins, a hint of wood, and brown sugar.

In keeping with the conviction - only the best is good enough - Blanton’s has been producing unique bourbon whiskeys for several generations in Leestown near Frankfort, Kentucky, according to old tradition and with genuine craftsmanship. At the old Ancient Age distillery, now called Buffalo Trace Distillery, every bottle from a single barrel that has reached optimal maturity is filled by hand and sealed with both a stopper and wax. In addition, each bottle is marked by hand with the respective barrel number and bottling date. This loving craftsmanship is represented, among others, by Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who always insisted that only the best was good enough for him. Almost a century ago, he developed his own product line: the "Private Reserve." These are special single-barrel bottlings that come exclusively from the now-famous Warehouse H, where the optimal microclimate for bourbon maturation prevails. Despite his death in 1959, Blanton’s legacy lives on today in every bottle. The individual design of Blanton’s bourbon bottles is striking. Characteristic features include both the distinctive octagonal shape and the stopper. The latter depicts a racehorse with jockey, creating a clear connection to the whiskey’s origin, the "Bluegrass Region" in Kentucky, where racehorses are bred. But even more impressive is the production process: only single barrels are bottled, aged for at least six years, always bottled at the peak of their maturity, and never blended with other whiskeys. Blanton’s also refrains from using flavor-enhancing additives, as well as sugar and coloring agents. The different editions of Blanton’s Bourbon differ in age, character, and drinking strength.
