Springbank: Five Generations, One Family, Three Whiskys

On the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland, there is a single malt whisky distillery run by a family named Springbank. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, which also owns the Glengyle distillery, the oldest independent bottler William Cadenhead's, and several blended Scotch brands such as Kilkkeran, Hazelburn, Longrow. One of the few producers of single malt whisky in Campbeltown, which previously had more than thirty operating distilleries, is Springbank, which received its license in 1828. Three different types of peated and unpeated malt whisky are produced by the distillery and distributed to consumers.
