The Rum was distilled in 1998 after which it was filled into a French oak cask at the distillery and matured in the tropical climate of Guadeloupe for 7 years. In 2005 the rum traveled the Atlantic Ocean towards the United Kingdom, and was re-casked into an American white oak cask before another 17 years of further maturation in the historic docks of Liverpool.
