For example, 2025: Barbados Foursquare 1998 :

The island received the name Barbados from its Portuguese discoverer Pedro Campos, who was reminded of beards by the hanging roots of the fig trees. Anyone who knows a bit about rum will immediately think of three special features of the island: first, the oldest still existing rum distillery Mount Gay from 1703. Second, the legendary Rockley Style bottlings from the years 1986 and 2000. And third, the uncompromising work of Richard Seale in his Foursquare Distillery. He was a great advocate of honest, unsweetened, and pure rum – this bottling is the best example of that.

Half of its time aged in the tropics, then transitioning to continental weather, it still exudes the typical Barbados fruitiness with mild and light sweetness. The alcohol is barely noticeable; instead, it smells very complex with notes of coconut, caramel, and a bit of honey. After some nosing, these become even more present, dancing together with toasted wood and spices, finishing with vanilla in the aftertaste.
